Animal Logic Entertainment and Imagine Entertainment recently announced four new original animated and live-action hybrid projects from their joint venture.
The Shrinking of Treehorn, based on the children’s book by Florence Parry Heide has Ron Howard attached to direct what will be his first animated film, with Rob Lieber writing the script. Australian screenwriter Stuart Beattie is attached to Rainbow Serpent an original animated story which will be distributed by Paramount Pictures, along with Treehorn.
Director Carlos Stevens and writers Jonathon Stewart and Eyal Podell are on board for Zero, a buddy comedy that explores the connection between family and technology. Animal Logic’s longtime collaborator Warner Bros. are confirmed to distribute the film.
The fourth title in the recent announcement is Muttnik, a live-action hybrid film about a space-time continuum travelling dog that returns home to his family an evolved creature.
Animal Logic’s passion for great storytelling continues with the launch of the Truant Screenplay Competition, which has a focus on Australian talent and a commitment to uncover the next great horror, science fiction and thriller screenwriters. The winner and two runner ups will receive cash prizes and the opportunity to gain professional feedback from industry heavyweights with international reach. Insight will be provided by one of the Industry Insider judges Stuart Beattie, Yolanda Ramke or Zak Hilditch.
