Commencing at Film Victoria in late December 2017, Caroline Pitcher has re-joined the State government agency and at a time when Melbourne, Victoria’s capital city, is abuzz with fresh New Year production activity.
In the midst of a hot Australian summer, crews are being snapped up by film and television producers – catapulting them from their festive season and into the fast-paced reality of production.
Caroline, a former VFX, post-production, and screen agency executive, brings fresh momentum to the screen agency, and is backed by 15 years energetically serving both the international and local screen industry.
Actively identifying and pursuing opportunities to attract production, connecting creatives and facilitating deals are well-honed skills she has developed on-the-job in an ever-changing global market.
As an influential player in Victoria and Australia’s screen industry, Caroline is committed to riding the wave of media disruption and driving strategies and initiatives that grow screen business activity for the state.
That means whole-heartedly welcoming the tech players that are dramatically re-visioning the media entertainment space, alongside our highly-valued established network, studio and production company partners, all looking to produce original and cut-through content.
Not only does Victoria’s screen industry provide a unique creative voice in its writers, producers, and directors but it is its professional, hard-working and talented production and VFX crew, exceptional studio spaces and diverse and compelling locations that make Melbourne a winning destination for screen partnerships and production.
Caroline understands the commercial realities of working in a global production environment and comes to Film Victoria from previous roles as Ausfilm CEO, National General Manager, Film & Television Post Production at Deluxe, Film Victoria Board Member, and Film Victoria General Manager (Melbourne Film Office).
With a focus on fostering creative and commercial partnerships, Caroline is keen to explore new opportunities and fresh ways to help support screen-makers break through the clutter and get into production.
She leads a highly-experienced team at Film Victoria of investment, location and production managers who can assist with all aspects of filming in Victoria – from location assistance, advice on potential crew, post facilities and other production needs.
