Gold looks absolutely spectacular, the Flinders Ranges is an incredible landscape, and the town of Leigh Creek a perfect hub for accommodating cast and crew. In every direction, there are spectacular locations and finding the right locations for Gold was paramount to the visual style and to capturing a harsh yet picturesque landscape for a survival film.”

“I couldn’t be more impressed with the locations. I really don’t think we could have made (Mortal Kombat) as gritty and as authentic and as epic in visual scale anywhere else… I don’t know where else we would have found the locations we needed in Australia. Adelaide and South Australia are a filmmaker’s city and state – there is a history and a pedigree here, but it hasn’t been overshot, it hasn’t been over utilised, so it’s actually just sort of sitting here waiting to be harnessed for what it really has.”

“Density and population size sets South Australia well apart from others and offers a distinct advantage both on and off the screen.  Well supported and welcomed by local communities, councils and government, an economy of scale puts more on the screen. South Australia offers epic settings from rugged and sublime coastal beaches, verdant hills and country, arid and remote deserts and towns.”
