This privacy policy explains how Ausfilm collects, holds, uses, protects, discloses and stores personal information that you (“user”, “users”, “you”, “your”) provide to Ausfilm.

Ausfilm recognises that your privacy is very important to you and that you have certain rights in respect of your personal information. Ausfilm knows that providing personal information is an act of trust and Ausfilm takes that seriously. OUR SERVICES

Ausfilm’s services include promoting Ausfilm members’ services and work, and Australian screen businesses, facilities, talent and screen incentives, to overseas studios and clients. Our promotional activities include running outreach programs in international markets and campaigns to the global screen market. We also hold events and distribute newsletters and updates about our activities.

COLLECTING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

In the course of providing our services, Ausfilm collects personal information from our members, clients as well as from other individuals with whom we interact. For example, we collect personal information when you:

  • subscribe to our channel;
  • sign up for our newsletter;
  • if you submit an enquiry or submit an application to us to participate in an incentive or scheme; and
  • if you submit an application to become an Ausfilm member.

The types of personal information that we collect include your name, contact information (for example your email, telephone number and address) and your gender. When we provide our membership services to you, we may also request that you provide us with further information about you including your date of birth and information about your travel arrangements, including correspondence and your travel documents, that relate to us providing our membership services to you (membership requires approval by the Ausfilm Board and incurs an annual membership fee).

We may also ask you to participate in surveys from time to time. Should you choose to participate in these surveys, your responses are anonymous and are de-identified. We use your responses to monitor and improve how we provide our services to members, clients and other third parties.

USING AND DISCLOSING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

Ausfilm uses the personal information that you provide to us for the purposes of providing our services to you including promoting opportunities for our members and clients to generate film production business in Australia, connecting members with clients, inviting you to our events or so that we can communicate with you about our services or provide you with news updates about our activities or other matters relevant to the Australian media sector.

Other than is stated in this privacy policy, Ausfilm does not share, sell, use or offer personal information that it collects to any other companies, affiliates or third party providers. Ausfilm will not give your personal information to advertisers or any other organisation without your express consent.

The only situations in which Ausfilm may disclose any information about you without your consent, or access your communications on our websites, is:

  • if Ausfilm believes it is necessary to provide users with a service which you have requested (e.g. B2B Connect Application);
  • if the law requires it;
  • to implement our terms of use;
  • to protect the rights or property of Ausfilm, any Ausfilm user, or any member of the public; or

Ausfilm’s policy is not to send any form of “spam” (unsolicited commercial electronic messages). Ausfilm’s member database is not made available to any advertiser or affiliate. If Ausfilm’s future policy were ever to differ from its current position, we would first notify you and obtain your consent prior to sending any promotional offerings.

We provide information in de-identified form about our activities and services to the Department of Communication and the Arts to demonstrate in aggregate the overall delivery of our service.

We do disclose your personal information to overseas recipients (Ausfilm Members) but will always ask you first and certainly not in bulk.
